New York promised bus riders up to six minutes.

On July 8, 2026, the city and state committed to making buses 20% faster on 50 priority corridors. This measure follows that commitment in the MTA's published data, every month. Right now: the baseline.

The plan attaches no single deadline to the 20% goal; DOT and MTA evaluate each corridor 6–12 months after its improvements are built. This measure reports monthly and imposes no deadline of its own.
